try a solution of equal parts of water and vinegar
wipe it down and clean as much of the grime as you can
they turn the oven to 300-350 for 35 minutes
let it cool and wipe down again with the same solution
    this always worked for me.

Push the bar to the right to lock the door. Push the clean button (you may have to push it a couple of times if it has many clean cycles (usually 1, 2, or 3 hours depending on the amount of dirt in the oven). Then just leave it - it should turn on automatically, heat up to a really high temperature and basically burn off all the dirt and grease on the inside walls of your oven. I think you may have to take the oven racks out before you turn the self-cleaning cycle on.

Turn it on clean, lock the door, and that should do it. I have a self-cleaning oven and I think that is all you have to do. I would have verified this with my own manual, but I am at work–working really hard!!

    Hi!!

I have a kenmore self cleaning oven. First push the bar to the right to lock the door. Second, on the control panel push the clean button. You will then have a choice (some models are different) of how long you would like the oven to be cleaned for. At this point chose the amount of time by pressing the arrow buttons if you have them. Then the oven will do all the work for you. When the oven is finished cleaning all you have to do is wipe out the left over ashes!! Make sure you call sears and give them you model number on your oven and they should beable to send out another manual. It is good to have this manual anyways just in case you sell your home or oven. Hope this helps!!

Keep in mind that if you start the self-cleaning cycle on your oven that the oven will get extremely hot (mine goes to about 800 degrees) and stays hot like that for about 3 hours or so.

Make sure you do this on a day when you can have the windows open…sometimes the burnt up food can create many fumes! I’ve also heard tales that the fumes created from a self-cleaning oven can kill pet birds, so be aware of that too.

I have a self-cleaning oven….I hate running the oven cycle, so I use Easy-Off Fume-Free Maxx (its safe for self-cleaning ovens) and that does a pretty good job of cleaning the oven…without the heat and all the horrible fumes!

    Good luck!

Self cleaning ovens pretty much work the same. Pull the bar, it locks the door, push clean and set your time anywhere from 1 to 4 hrs usually. When it’s done, it will shut off and allow you to unlock the door. Some models require that you remove the grates beforehand.

    One thing to note:

I have a newer model Kenmore with the push button electronic mechanism. To clean the oven do NOT try to lock the door first! doing so locks all the controls except the timer and the light. To clean it, press the clean button, then select your time, and let it auto-engage. It will lock the door automatically.

Also, when it says its locking the door (Door locked light is blinking), DO NOT open the door. If you do, there’s a chance it will complete the locking cycle and then you won’t be able to fully close your door. If you do this, push down the little plunger that senses when the door is shut, and hold down the light button until everything resets.

Yes I learned this all the hard way about 15 mins ago.
