How do I know the prices of cleaning Offices?
emrogs asked:
I have a home cleaning business, and want to expand to cleaning offices, but I have no idea what the prices are. How can I get some prices? If I call pretending to be a customer they say they want to see the office, and I don’t have one. Or you can tell me what you pay in case that you have someone cleaning your office.
Thanks.

Surely you know someone that works in an office. Perhaps they could check into what is paid for cleaning at their building. Try to get what information you can that way, but ultimately you will have to decide if the deal works for you anyway. Since you are already in the business, you know how long it takes to complete specific tasks. Estimate the time involved and multiply by your hourly rate, its that simple. Regardless of what others charge, only you know what it takes for you to survive. Don’t be afraid to bid some jobs. It won’t take long to find out where you’re at and whether or not its something that will be profitable given your particular circumstances.

Here are some ideas:
If you don’t already have liability insurance, or a bond, you’ll need to call as many agencies as you can to get quotes because the price varies. Since they are trying to get your business, ask them about their cleaning service–what it does, how often, what price. If they don’t know, get to the person who does, like the office manager or property manager. You may want to ask to submit a bid to them, too.
Property managers are good to quiz. In some buildings there are building managers. It’s going to take a little detective work, but well worth it.
Prices vary from region or city, so there isn’t any standard rate chart for cleaning. It depends on many factors.
