How can I start advertising for office cleaning?
golflover4ever asked:
I want to get into late afternoon or evening office cleaning now that times are tough. I really dont have much experience other than cleaning my own home.. Other than advertsing in the newspaper, what else can I do to get some exposure out there? Also, what do I do when a client asks for references? Tell the truth that I an new at this? Help!?

Distribute flyers to stores, offices, etc. Go to property management firms and tell them about your service. As far as references go, get some friends or former coworkers who can testify to your good character and industry.

Craig’s list has a Services Offered Section. Free advertising.
I would post a question on answers asking what most people that do this job offer? Make a list of the items that you would like to do and have that list ready for someone who may be interested in your services. You can tell them that you can cater your services around their specific needs, if you agree on them prior to you taking the job. You will need to have your own cleaning supplies.
References: Well first of all, BE HONEST. If people find out you lied to them about your experience, they will not trust you in their office. If you have done any volunteer work and took on work that required responsibilty, you could have someone who worked with you as a reference. Make sure to ask anyone if they mind doing it. Neighbors. Teachers,
I hope this helps.

All those answers sound just about right… When we started out we hit the road with flyers, brochure, business cards and whatever we had that we could use to get our name out there… We also made cold calls to lots of local business…
As for references, we told them we are new to the business but our goal is customer satisfaction.
